The choirs at North Central High School provide a comprehensive experience with special emphasis placed on both Concert Choir and Show Choir. The North Central Choirs consistently earn high marks and are highly regarded throughout the state of Indiana, and nationwide.

North Central High School offers ten curricular choirs, ranging from madrigal to concert to show choirs.

Summary of MSDWT Choir Programs

Middle School

6th Grade Choir/Beginning Choir (2 semesters): This is a non-audition beginning choir typically made up of sixth grade students. The beginning choir performs a variety of music as well as learning vocal and singing techniques, performance skills, and music theory instruction. This group performs at school concerts as well as some school functions. Auditions are available for 6th graders into the higher groups at Eastwood and Westlane. 

7th and 8th Grade Choir/Intermediate Choir (2 semesters): This is a non-audition choir for seventh and eighth grade students. This choir performs a variety of fun and challenging music as well as learning vocal and singing techniques, performance skills, and music theory instruction. Students will participate in school and community performances. This year-long choir is a non-audition based group that is available to both 7th and 8th graders, and advanced 6th graders with prior experience and director approval.​

7th or 8th Grade Show Choir/Advanced Choirs (2 Semesters): Teacher approval and vocal audition Show Choir is for students with an exceptional voice and a flair for the dramatic. Membership in this class is based on singing ability and dance experience with an emphasis on vocal and dance productions. Each student will have the opportunity to learn correct singing techniques and combine these with creative movement. Students will be required to attend performances, rehearsals, and competitions which could be outside the school day. These outside activities will be a factor in the determination of the grade including all school performances, community performances, and ISSMA Organizational contest. There is a required fee of $60-120 depending on number of events in which the site participates. Fundraising opportunities are available to cover the cost.
