Opportunities for Every Student - Established 1956

The Performing Arts at MSDWT

The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township's music curriculum encourages cultural awareness and provides opportunities for students to attain the knowledge and skills necessary to be become musically literate, well-rounded individuals. Students work collaboratively with others to achieve common artistic goals, thereby preparing them for a lifetime of engagement with the arts.

The Performing Arts program in MSDWT provides a comprehensive, sequential, and cumulative arts education for students in grades K-12. Elementary art and general music instruction are provided to all students in kindergarten through grade 6. String orchestra, band, and choir instruction are offered at the middle school level beginning in 6th grade.  At the middle and high school levels, a wide range of elective course offerings in both music and theatre are available for students. The K-12 Performing Arts programs encourage students to become critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and effective communicators.

The MSDWT music and theatre programs receive many state and national accolades and are consistently invited to perform at state, national, and international events.
